A seven-seat XC90 plug-in that does Bukit Timah to Mandai on battery.
This is the car that makes a family day out simple again. The 2023 XC90 Recharge T8 pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor on the rear axle, for 455 hp combined and all-wheel drive, and the battery gives about 70 km on electricity alone, so most of a Singapore day passes without the engine waking up. There are seven proper seats: the third row suits children and shorter adults, and the second row slides forward so they can climb in. This one has the Bowers & Wilkins speakers, a panoramic roof, ventilated front seats and a head-up display, and the 360-degree camera makes tight HDB and mall carparks far less stressful.
Bukit Timah is a good place to start a family day. Mandai is fifteen minutes up the BKE for the zoo, Bird Paradise, River Wonders or the Night Safari, and Sentosa is about twenty-five minutes away for the beaches at Siloso and Palawan. East Coast Park on a Sunday morning, with bikes from the rental kiosks and a picnic near the Marine Cove playground, never fails, and the Kranji countryside has goat farms, a frog farm and Bollywood Veggies, where children can see where their vegetables come from. Tell us how old your children are and we'll suggest a route, along with the carparks that have room for a car this size.
We deliver it anywhere on the island, Changi Airport included. If you add a child seat or a booster, it is fitted before the car reaches you; children under 1.35 m need a proper restraint here, so ask us if you are unsure which seat suits yours. The car comes with a full tank and a full battery. A condo or HDB carpark charger refills the battery in about five hours, but it drives perfectly well as a hybrid if you never plug it in. ERP and carpark charges come off the OBU and are billed at cost after the trip, itemised on your receipt.

Any terminal, T1 to T4. Give us your flight number and we track it, so your driver meets you at arrivals even if you land late.

Start at home and finish at the office or the airport, at no extra charge.
Or leave it for us
Leave the car and key at an agreed carpark or lockbox. The rental ends when you send the return photos and location; the car stays in your care until we arrive.
The main driver meets the car with their licence and the payment card, or the PayNow reference. If nobody is there, your driver waits 30 minutes; after that a S$50 missed-handover fee applies.

Comfortable, very clean and a ten-minute handover. My only quibble is that the charger in my Sengkang carpark was always taken, so I drove it mostly on petrol, which was still more economical than I expected.
